Balandra Beach
The beauty of Balandra is almost surreal, so it doesn’t come as surprise that is constantly referred as Mexico’s most beautiful beach. It’s located 27 km north La Paz and due to its environmental importance (it is home to multiple marine species and a big system of mangrove forest, dunes and cactus) has been declared a flora and fauna protection area since 2012.
Its rock formation shaped as a mushroom is an icon of the city of La Paz. Here you can take the perfect selfie to share on your social media, just take into account that climbing the rock is strictly forbidden as it has been already restored due the damage caused by the environment and visitors.
In Balandra you can enjoy the calmest waters, ideal for swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking. Soak up the sun while step on the softest sands or enjoy a hike through its beautiful trails.
Because of its Natural Protected Area status and in order to guarantee its protection and maintenance, Balandra Beach has limited access. Ask in our hotel front desk about hours to visit Balandra and more important information to know in advance.
